Blue Lake ladies go pink for a cause
The annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser for the women at the Blue Lake Golf Club raised $665.
This will go towards the Helping Hand Bags full of vouchers and much needed goodies for those going through breast cancer treatments, sometimes making endless trips to Adelaide.
A presentation was made to representatives Loraine Baron and Jill Gilmore by club handicapper Geraldine Scott and coordinator Dianne Allen.
Unfortunately the weather was not kind to the golfers but a lovely afternoon tea after lunch and presentations made up for the dismal weather.
With decorated golf carts, a drinks cart, teams of two dressed in pink,the holes painted pink and all participants given a bag with pink golf tokens from OGR it all added twhat was a great day for a great cause.
The winners of the Pinehurst competition was the team of team Karen Panagopoulos/Jenny Bowman nett 71.8, second was Annette Ford/Lyn Annand and third place went to Rosemary Martland/Fiona Pulford. Combined nearest to the pin on the 5th Helen Stratford/Johanna Gogan.
SEPTEMBER 7 RESULTS
A good representation of 18 women competed on Saturday and it was Karen Panagopoulos declared the winner on +2 that was the score of the day and was the only one to play under her handicap.
She was followed by Bev Pascoe -4 after a countback from Geraldine Scott also signing for -4. The ball rundown included Anita Klem, Josie Ashby and Dianne Perryman all with -5.
