Bowls season officially kicks off

MOUNT Gambier RSL & District Bowling Club opened its 2025/26 season in fine spring conditions.

President Ron Cook welcomed patrons, life members and members before handing over to life member Lyn Chirgwin who officially opened the 2025/26 season.

President Ron Cook invited ladies club champion Shirley McIntyre to roll the jack and current men’s club champion Michael Fox to put the first bowl down.

Games Master Gary Bowering read the cards of which players were put into drawn teams of four and then played two games of seven ends.

Presentation of badges took place after everyone enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.
