Douglas & Furner get the job done

Division 1 runner up Jan Shanahan with winner Marie Douglas and Division 2 winner Libby Furner with runner up Lyn Hudson.

ON a chilly, clear day 36 lady golfers teed off on May 21 at the Mount Gambier Golf Club competing in the sponsored 2nd Round of the Hudson Plumbing and Roofing Competition.

Taking out Division 1 was long standing member Marie Douglas (Handicap 24) playing two shots under her handicap recording 38 points.

Her split for the two nines was 20/18=38 points.

Marie’s front nine won the day for her due to having 45 off the stick and included three three pointers, plus another two three pointers on the back nine.

Second place went to the very consistent golfer, and often mentioned, Jan Shanahan (Handicap 15) with 19/18=37 points.

In Division 2 the winner was Libby Furner (Handicap 37) with 20/15=35 points.

Libby scored four points on the 8th, Par 3 Hole plus three points on the last two holes.

Second place went to another long standing member Lyn Hudson (Handicap 29) with 20/14=34 points.

Lyn’s better front nine consisted of three three pointers and the only wipeout for the day came on the 18th, Par 4 Hole.

Seven balls were given out to Kathy Ewer (34 points) down to Mardi Goodes (31 points).

The Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole went to Janina Morrison.

The 2nd Shot on the 11th Hole went to A Grade – Helen Heaver, B Grade – Carol Smith and C Grade – Gail Stephenson.

MAY 24 STABLEFORD RESULTS

Twenty-one ladies took part in a stableford event on a cold but fine day.

Yvonne Shirley (Handicap 31) took out first placing with 20/19=39 points.

Yvonne had 101 off the stick and included in her great score she parred the 8th and 16th holes and had five three pointers in her score.

Second placing went to consistent lady golfer Carol Davis (Handicap 14) and Carol had 19/19=38 points with 85 off the stick.

She had eight pars and six three pointers in her score.

Six balls were collected by Lois Harvey 36 points, Carol Smith, Marie Douglas, Bernie Jennings, Bev Pedlar and Di O’Donnell 32 points.

The Pro Shot on the 8th , Par 3 Hole went to Jess Parsons and the NTP to Vicki Clark.
