Doyle defies conditions to card quality score
LAST Wednesday’s stableford competition saw 26 women tee up at the Blue Lake Golf Club and with still some gusty wind conditions the cleanup from the weekend’s horrendous weather had been a fantastic effort by the greenskeeper and his staff to clear much of the loose debris with some large trees still to be dealt with.
The score of the day of an awsome 39 points was posted by Division Two player Trudy-Anne Doyle.
Rosemary Martland, the division one winner, also scored well off her 15 handicap signing for 36 points.
Even splits of 18/18 included four three-pointers off pars on the 4th, 9th, 12th and 18th holes.
Runner up Sue Agars followed with 35 points off her 22 handicap with three-point pars on the 2nd, 5th and 9th holes in her outward 17 points coming home with a four-point birdie on the 16th in the inward 18 points.
Third was Dianne Perryman posting 33 points off a 23 handicap scoring on every hole with par three-pointers on the 2nd and 12th holes in her 17/16 splits.
As mentioned Trudy-Anne Doyle with her 39 points off her 38 handicap won the top voucher for Division Two her splits of 17/22 included two four-pointers on the 2nd and 10th holes along with five three-pointers and only one wipe on her near clean scorecard.
Returning from a long holiday in the Queensland sunshine Lesley McPherson was refreshed and took the runner up voucher posting 33 points after a countback with Bev Pascoe also 33.
McPherson played off 35 qnd had splits of 15/18 and included four three-pointers. Pascoe off 32 had a par on the 5th in her outward 16 points with two three-pointers in her inward 17 points.
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot on the 2nd hole winners were Karen Panagopoulos (.26cms) and Janine Dunn (2.56). Panagopoulos and Agars scored birdies on the dog-leg 15th with chip-in ferret prizes won by Lynda Nannings 3rd, Geraldine Scott 7th, Martland 7th, Panagopoulos 15th, Cherryl Hill 16th and Ronda Edwards 18th. BB9 winner Doyle.
AUGUST 30 RESULTS
After the horrendous previous day’s weather the early morning start to the clean up by the greenskeeper allowed the 18 women to compete in the 3rd Round of the Carlin and Gazzard Car Spa Winter Trophy.
The daily difficulty rating was +1 and the winner was Dianne Perryman with a fine 96/23/73 after splits of 49/47 and included a par on the par three 5th hole.
Runner up was Carol Downing 108/34/74 her splits of 57/51 included a par on the dog-leg 15th followed by Rosemary Martland 89/14/75 with a par on the par five 4th hole in her 45/44 splits.
In the ball rundown were Ronda Edwards nett 77 c/b Annette Ford 77 c/b Helen Stratford 77 c/b.
