Enduring Bulldogs star celebrates game 300
One of East Gambier’s most enduring and decorated players reached her 300th milestone at the weekend.
Jacinta Clark made her way to the kennel in 1994, making her A Grade debut a year later, doubling up that season with 13 matches in the 17 & Under grade, continuing her A Grade career in 1996 before university beckoned as she pursued her dream of being a teacher.
In 2002, though, she was back as a Bulldog, representing the club with distinction in A Grade and A Reserve through until 2019.
Jacinta commenced her playing career with East Gambier in 1994. In 1995 she made her A Grade debut and also played 13 games in the 17 Under team. In 1996 Jacinta Played 17 A grade games before she-moved to Adelaide to begin her studies at university.
In 2021 and ’22 Jacinta brought her experience and leadership to the East C grade team before taking on the playing coach role in the B Grade last season and continuing through the 2024 season.
Jacinta has three Western Border netball Association league best & fairests in her trophy cabinet, which is also overflowing with a swag of club awards.
She has also turned her hand to umpiring, junior coaching, club president and served on the committee.
A quality defensive player, Jacinta has an amazing vertical leap, is as effective on the ground as she is in the air, and she has always played so much taller than she is in reality.
Tight checking but also a great reader of the play, Jacinta creates more than her fair share of turnovers and she has played match winner, especially in critical situations, multiple times.
Jacinta celebrated the milestone with her husband Josh and children Amelia, Matilda, Charlie and William.
