Family milestone celebration

TANTANOOLA netballer Alana Fensom celebrated her 150th senior game as a Tiger at the weekend.

Fensom’s last milestone of 100 senior games was in 2018, so it has taken her more than six seasons to play another 50 games but she has finally hit the 150th mark.

All of her netball has been played in the red and white as a Tiger, with the exception of a few games when she relocated up to Quennsland for a short time.

Fensom is a very dedicated Tiger having taken on the role of coach on numerous occasions – taking on the 13s in 2019 and 17s in 2021. She has also been the secretary of the netball club for a season and is a currently assistant secretary.

A highlight of her time as a Tiger was when she was acknowledged for her dedication to the club and all the time and effort she puts in and she was awarded the Ange Fensom Memorial Award, an award dedicated to her beautiful mum who would be so proud of the dedicated club person and passionate player her daughter has become.

Fensom (pictured with her father David) is a regular member of the club’s A Reserve team and this is where she has played majority of her 150 games but as seen against Nangwarry, will often step up and play A Grade – which helped her reach her milestone.
