First ace for Perryman
FIRSTLY on Saturday, September 6, in a par competition at the Blue Lake Golf Club, a hole in one was achieved by the women’s long time handicapper Dianne Perryman.
She has been playing for over a couple of decades winning a handfull of championships but this was her very first hole on one.
It was on the uphill par three 2nd hole watched by her very excited playing partners and will receive her mounted ball at the end of year presentations.
Twenty-eight women played and a number of good scores were recorded with a host of countbacks required and it was Kirsty Janeway coming away with the win signing for all square off her 34 handicap after being 1-down on the front nine and 1-up on the back nine.
Her card included six pluses. The countbacks continued between Karen Panagopoulos, Rosemary Martland and Annette Ford also all square.
Panagopoulos was second, her card showed five pluses off her 22 handicap finishing all square on both nines.
Martland off her 14 handicap 1-up on the front nine 1-down on the back and included five par pluses.
Ford had to settle for finishing in the ball rundown along with Dianne Perryman 1-down, Kate Hommelhoff 1-down, Helen Stratford 1-down, Karyn Coon 1-down, Cherryl Hill 2-down. NTP was Perryman (2.72) BB9 winner was Janeway.
SEPTEMBER 10 RESULTS
A couple of showers and a few wind gusts ensued but was mild overall for the 27 women teeing off in another par competition.
The challenge came from the recently cord and sanded greens but several had reasonable results considering.
Becoming a regular in the winner’s circle Karen Panagopoulos finished 2-down off her newly adjusted handicap of 22.
Both nines were 1-down and included par pluses on the 5th, 9th and 12th holes along with a bogey plus on the 18th.
Helen Stratford was 2nd signing for 3-down off her 23 handicap going to a countback with Annette Ford and Geraldine Scott also 3-down.
After a slow start Stratford was 5-down with only a par plus on the 2nd turning to the 10th, then scoring pluses on the 10th, 15th and 16th holes.
Ford played off a 25 handicap and was 2-down on the front nine and 1-down on the back.
Division Two winner was Lesley McPherson finishing 1-down off her 34 handicap with par pluses on the 5th and 18th holes along with bogey pluses on the 1st, 14th and 15th holes.
Following was Trudy-Anne Doyle backing up the previous week’s win signing for 2-down off her 37 handicap that included a par plus on the 5th along with four bogey pluses.
Another regular in the placings was Vivienne Wilson 3-down off her 35 handicap.
Her card included three-pluses. Wilson did face a countback with Carol Melhuish and Trudy Herbert also finishing 3-down.
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot on the 14th hole winners were Rosemary Martland (.62) and Bev Pascoe (5.50) along with the pro-shot winner on the 5th Panagopoulos (3.66).
Chip-in ferret prizes went to Sue Agars 2nd, Melhuish 11th and 14th, Johanna Gogan 16th.
