Harris well & truly on target

South East Autotrade Highgun winner Isaiah Harris (right) congratulated by Andrew Hoare.

The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition on November 11 in favourable conditions which enabled the shooters to obtain some high scores and shoot-offs were needed to decide the winners.

The opening event was the AVIS Car and Truck Rentals 50 Tgt Balltrap Championship with Gavin Height 49/50 winning AA from Isaiah Harris 48/50, Warren Lindner 48/50 won A, from Ken Atkin 45/50, Scott Fleming 48/52 just edged out Kevin Mules 47/52 to win B, Garry Allison 45/50 won C easily from Peter Klieve 41/50.

The Carlin and Gazzard 25 Tgt Club Single Barrel Championship event was exceptionally well shot, with competitors trying to win points towards the yearly club aggregate award, Andrew Hoare 25/26 won overall and AA from Daniel Robinson 24/26, Mark Fabris 22/25 won A from Kevin Mules 23/27, Scott Fleming 23/25 took out B from Robert Atkinson 17/26 and Mick Rudd 21/25 in fine form outshot Garry Allison 20/25 to win C grade.

The Gambier Hotel 25 Tgt Club Continental Championship was the last event with again competitors trying hard to gain points for the yearly club aggregate title.

Isaiah Harris on a perfect score 37/37 won overall and AA from Dane Hastings 27/28, Ted Bond 27/28 took out A from Kevin Mules 26/28, Dale Robertson with a perfect 25/25 outshot Scott Fleming 24/25 to win B and after a shoot off Peter Klieve 29/31 won C from Mick Rudd 28/31.

The South East Autotrade Highgun Award was won by Isaiah Harris with a top score of 96/100.

The Black Crow Club gained a new member James McKinnon and more supporters being Dennis Blok and Daniel Robinson.

The next competition will be the Christmas competition being held on December 9.
