LAST Wednesday was an action packed day for the 34 registered women teeing off in the April monthly medal, second qualifying round of the Caffe Belgiorno sponsored Handicap championships and 3rd round of the Collins court Butcher sponsored Captain’s trophy at the Blue Lake Golf Club.

The perfect Autumn weather and lots of run on the fairways was conducive to some excellent scores recorded especially for the April Monthly Medal winner Judy Hunter nett 67 sponsored by Grant and Dianne Perryman.

Division Two winner Sally Houlihan found the long course set-up to her liking signing for 92/22/70 that Included 50 strokes on the outward nine coming home strongly with pars on 11, 15, 16 and 17th holes in her 42 strokes.

Runner up Helen Myers 89/17/72 also scored well playing to her handicap with splits of 47/42 that Included a par on the 10th and a birdie on the dog-leg 15th hole.

Third on the podium was Sue Agars 94/20/74 after consistent scoring on both nines 47/48 with pars on 3, 4 and 15th holes.

In Division Two not only did Judy Hunter win the Monthly Medal but also topped her division 110/43/67.

Hunter is a regular Saturday player and has enjoyed taking part in the Wednesday competition whilst on work leave.

Her 60 outwards strokes were reeled in with a moderate 50 on the inward nine.

Second was another regular Saturday player also on leave, Renae McQuade who has slowly been lowering her handicap of late signing for 104/35/69 with good nines of 51/53.

Third was Vice-captain Bev Pascoe 105/34/71 who always plays consistent golf had splits of 52/53 and a par on the 15th.

Nearest to the pin 2nd shot on 16th winners were Rosemary Martland (.56) and Kristy Janeway (.69).

Karen Panagopoulos was pro-shot winner (4.16).

Balls and chocolate bars were handed out to Martland and Myers for birdies on 15th along with Jaynee Oberer 5th/14th, Janine Dunn 9th and Sonia Solly 12th for chip-in ferrets.

Those in the ball rundown were Johanna Gogan 72, Trudy Herbert 74, Dunn 74, Solly 74 and least putts, Gogan 26.APRIL 18 RESULTS

The nice weather attracted 23 women for the stroke competition and it was Bernadette Pedlar who took the overall field top voucher as well as a voucher from the South Aussie Hotel with an awesome nett 67 off her 32 handicap.

In her splits of 50/49, there was a birdie on the par three 2nd and pars on 5, 7, 9 and 17th holes.

Jayne Galpin was top placegetter signing for 86/17/69 with a birdie on the 5th, a par on 9th in her outward 44 strokes followed by a run of pars on 10, 17 and 18th holes in her inward 42 strokes.

Next was Anita Klem 101/32/69 after a countback with Galpin.

Her scorecard Included a par on the 16th.

Rosemary Martland took third place voucher after signing for 84/14/70.

In the ball rundown were Judy Hunter 71 c/b Kate Brown 71, Josie Ashby 73, Wendy Burley 74 c/b Annette Ford 74, Bev Pascoe 76 and least putts, Geraldine Scott.
