Jones & Emonson combine for victory
The Millicent Bowls Club Men’s Championship Fours was played on November 24 but the grand final was not played until December 8.
Thirty-six players took part in the competition, with all games leading up to the final played over 12 ends.
The preliminary final was played on December 8 between Rod Gibbs and Iain Campbell and Kym Stewart and Steve Skeer with Kym Stewart and Steve Skeer winning their way into the grand final against Glen Jones and Aaron Emonson.
The title decider was played over 15 ends and by the 8th end the Jones/Emonson pair were12 shots to 4 up.
The Stewart/Skeer pair won the next three ends and with only one end to play and only four bowls left in the game the Jones team were holding shot to give them the game.
Kym Stewart then had a full-blooded drive and killed the end with the jack going out of bounds. This meant another end had to be played with the Jones team winning and giving them the title of Championship Pairs for 2024/25 Season.
