Lindner takes out overall highgun

Shooters defy conditions with outstanding scores at gun club monthly competition

The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition earlier this month in sunny conditions being fine and warm even though there was some slight dull cloudy patches the shooters still obtained some perfect scores.

The opening event was the Rymill Family 25 Tgt Club Skeet Championship.

This competition was enthusiastically shot as the competitors were after points for the yearly aggregate award and showing off their skills. Kevin Mules 24/25 won overall and A from Greg Kessegian 21/25, Darren Beyer 23/25 won B, whilst Warren Lindner in fine form 23/25 won C from Matthew Robinson 30/33.

The DiGiorgio Family Wines 25 Tgt District Double Barrel Championship event was exceptionally well shot with some competitors obtaining perfect scores and after a lengthy shoot off Greg Kessegian in top form with a perfect 128/128 won overall and AA from Warren Lindner 127/128, Scott Fleming 31/32 just edged out Kevin Mules 30/32 to win A, Malcom McGrice 24/25 narrowly won B from Stuart Bowd 33/35 and with his first perfect score of 25/25 Jake Henningsen narrowly won C from Doug Rohde 24/25.

The O G Roberts & Co 50 Tgt South Australian State Continental Single Barrel Championship was up next and this being a rather difficult event was again shot with great accuracy and determination.

Warren Lindner was in fine form with the only perfect 50/50 won overall and AA from Max Medhurst 47/50, Steve Chambers 46/50 won A grade from Scott Fleming 46/51, Stuart Bowd 45/50 easily won B from Dale Robertson 40/50 and Reece Fleming our upcoming junior member with a credible score of 41/50 took out C grade from Doug Rohde 37/50.

The Black Crow Club gained a donor member being Matthew Robinson.

The South East Autotrade Highgun award over the three events was successfully won by Warren Lindner with a credible score of 98/100.

The next competition will be on July 8 with the AGM being held at the club after the shoot.
