The Mt Gambier Cycling Club had a standout weekend, with riders competing in major events in both Melbourne and Adelaide, earning impressive results and making their mark on the cycling scene.

In Melbourne, Molly Opperman and Miles Kroon represented the club in the junior program and delivered outstanding performances.

Molly placed in every event she competed in, including a second-place finish in the Sunday wheelrace for the combined U15/U17 age group, starting from 60 metres.

Molly also earned a prestigious Victorian State Silver Medal in the Keirin Championship, showcasing her talent on the big stage.

Miles, in only his first indoor bunch race event, performed extremely well.

He won the Under 15 boys Wheelrace and was highly competitive against riders who have been riding a lot longer than him.

Joining them in Melbourne were senior riders Amali Judd, Ethan McKenny, and LCRSA coach Rob Mann.

Amali had a stellar weekend, claiming first place in both the Points Score and Motor Pace events.

Ethan added to the club’s success with a second-place finish in the wheelrace final and third in the B Grade scratch race, while Rob Mann showed his experience and skill to the competition.

Meanwhile, in Adelaide, brothers Xavier and Phoenix Farmilo competed in the South Coast Australia Day Carnival.

Xavier performed strongly, finishing second in the Heart Starter race and third in the Motor Pace.

Phoenix achieved equally impressive results, taking first place in the Heart Starter and second in the Countdown Handicap.
