Mavericks settle on home court
Momentum continues to build for the newly formed Melbourne Mavericks, bringing new energy and anticipation throughout the Suncorp Super Netball landscape. In the latest exciting news for the franchise, the team has officially unveiled its new home, announcing the Waverley Netball Centre as the Mavericks’ training base.
Set in the heart of South East Melbourne, the location will allow the team to build a great rapport with the local community, while also focusing on its fanbase throughout the state. The announcement includes all administration, high-performance staff, and community programs to be based from the Waverley Netball Centre. With the team’s training base locked in, further news will be shared regarding the location of Mavericks’ home games in the coming weeks.
Mavericks GM of Netball Operations Shae Bolton Brown (pictured) said they were thrilled to call the Waverley Netball Centre ot heir new home “We look forward to creating a genuine connection with not only those in the South East of Melbourne, but the entire netball community throughout the state,” Bolton said. “Our club will have a real community focus, including grassroots development, and we can’t wait to share more detail around in the coming months.”
