Menz wins Monthly Medal

LAST week, 22 Lucindale ladies played a stroke round in the May Monthly Medal round kindly sponsored by ‘The Gentle Touch’ on behalf of the Lucindale legends, Leanne and Kevin Graetz.

The members were thrilled to see Leanne back playing, nicknamed ‘The Generous Touch’ as she not only gifted lavishly to all prize winners but very thoughtfully baked Lamb’s Fry for lunch.

Members were also thrilled seeing Shylie, Eliza and Annie back at the club.

It was a very special day as it was the last one Leanne and Kevin Graetz will be sponsoring as they’ve sold their business and have downsized to carting cattle only.

They’ve been sponsors for about 20 years and every year, they’ve been incredibly generous and thoughtful with their prizes.

This year Leanne and Kevin selected local produce from both Nairne & Lucindale where their families originated.

Sharon Menz won the Monthly Medal with a nett 76, on a countback from four other ladies and was also the A Grade nett winner on a countback from her sister, Rachel Smith, also Megs Watson and Leanne Graetz. Sharon also was NTP on 16th hole for A Grade.

Aside from nett runner up in A Grade, Rachel Smith was gross winner with 92 OTS plus Putting Queen in A Grade with 30 putts on a countback from Megan Watson.

Megan was NTP on the 3rd and nearly had a hole in one, while B Grade nett winner was Fionna McInnes with 76, on a countback from Sally Clarke.

Fionna won B Grade NTP and Judy James was B Grade Putting Queen with 30 points.

Aside from it being the Monthly Medal, it was also the 3rd Qualifying Round of Elders Club Championships, 2nd round International Bowl and 1st Round of Olympics.
