Norman & Altschwager secure wins

Division 1 runner up Jess Parsons, Division 1 winner Di Norman, Division 2 winner Libby Altschwager & sponsor Gail Stephenson.
A STABLEFORD competition, generously sponsored by Gail Stephenson, was held last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club for 40 lady golfers.
On a clear day Di Norman (Handicap 22) took out first place in Division 1 with 17/18-35 points.
Di’s consistent golf won the day and her score included five pars and one wipeout.
Second placing in Division 1 went to Jess Parsons (Handicap 17) with a great 20 points on the front nine and 14 points on the back nine = 34 points.
Jess recorded three pars for the day.
With the best score overall in Division 2 section, first place went to Libby Altschwager (Handicap 27) with a split for the two nines 19/17=36 points.
Libby had six pars for the day plus two wipeouts.
Second place went to Linley Gray (Handicap 44) with 15/19=34 points.
Linley had a very rare five points on the 11th Hole, four three pointers which totalled up nicely on her scorecard to 34 points.
Twelve balls were handed out in the ball rundown and went to Linda Boylan 34 points down to Yvonne Shirley 30 points.
The specialty prize for the day was whoever hit the most fairways and Marie Douglas won this as she hit every fairway.
The Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole was won by Heather Barry.
MAY 31 RESULTS
Twenty-four ladies competed in a stableford event in perfect golfing weather – no wind and sunny with the greens running fast.
Jill Johnson (Handicap 32) headed the field with a score of 40 points, made up with a split of 18 points front nine and a great 22 points on the difficult and long back Nnine.
Jill played 4 under her handicap and included five three pointers on the back nine plus 1 on the front nine.
Jill had a genuine 101 off the stick.
Long hitting Mardi Goodes (Handicap 22) took out second placing with a consistent 19/17=36 points.
Mardi’s score included two four pointers made on the 1st and 16th Holes.
Seven balls were received by Josie Ashby 34 points down to Sharyn Emetlis .
NTP and the Pro Shot on the 8th both went to Mardi Goodes.
A must be mentioned eagle on the 1st Hole (3 strokes on a Par 5 Hole) was accomplished by long hitter Leanne Hunt.
