It what could be described as a perfect winter’s day and the 24 women enjoyed a stroke competition incorporating the July Monthly Medal sponsored by Bev Pascoe and 2nd Round of the Scotty’s Loader Services Mt Gambier President’s Trophy.
Karen ‘Pana’ Panagopolous was a happy first time monthly medal winner adding to her Division One win and previous Saturday’s win.
The daily difficulty rating on the Wednesday was a +2 due to the very heavy underfoot conditions and the long course set up with many signing well over handicaps and pars hard to score.
Division One winner Panagopoulos 94/22/72 had splits of 46/48 with a par on the dogleg 15th, holes of even scoring and four double bogeys was good enough for the win.
Second was Helen Stratford 96/22/74 with pars on the 2nd and 5th in her outward 50 strokes and pars on the 12th and 16th in the inward 45 mixed with double bogeys.
Third on the podium was Jaynee Oberer 102/26/76 after a countback with Ronda Edwards 93/17/76.
Oberer had splits of 53/49 that included pars on the 14th and 15th holes.
Division Two participants did find the long course challenging with fairly high scores posted all with a bit too much red ink on their scorecards.
Trudy-Anne Doyle was first over the line signing for 121/37/84 with an outward 63 strokes and 58 on the inward.
A regular in the winner’s circle, Bev Pascoe took the second place voucher with 116/31/85 with splits of 57/59 followed by 3rd place Lee Anderson 124/38/86 after her splits of 63/61.
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot winners on the 14th were Josie Ashby (.87) and Pascoe (5mtrs) and the pro- shot winner on the 5th was Janine Dunn (2.57).
Chip-in ferret prizes were won by Cherryl Hill 6th/10th, Oberer 15th, Dianne Perryman 17th, Geraldine Scott 17th and Josie Ashby least putts 27.

Dianne Perryman off 22 was second placed signing for 4-down after pars on the 7th and 17th holes finishing her round 4-down.
