Parsons wins short course
The weather was clear and fine, the course and greens were good and the scoring was exceptional.
Handicaps had been adjusted for the Short Course, thus golfers were playing off much lower handicaps than normal.
In Division 1 Jess Parsons (Handicap 12) had a great round of golf registering 5 under her handicap with 41 points, made up with a split of 19/22=41 points.
Jess had a birdie on the difficult Par 4, 14th Hole plus six three pointers complementing her round.
Coming in second place was long standing member Val Grubb (Handicap 14) with one under her handicap 37 points 19/18=37 points.
Val had 10 pars in her score and three wipeouts prevented her having many more points.
Division 2 winner with a great score of 40 points (23/17=40 points) was Libby Furner (Handica 28).
Libby had an exceptional front nine posting two four pointers and 5 three pointers and she recorded scores on every hole.
Nine balls were handed out to ladies for their good play and went to Deb Sheather (37 points) down to Mardi Goodes (34 points).
A new addition to the Speciality Prizes was whoever hit the most greens in two and went to Val Grubb who hit 13 greens.
The Pro Shot was won by Lizzie Clements.
This week’s competition will be the last Monthly Medal Stroke Round, Handicap Championship Qualifying Round, Putting, 3rd Round Winter Salver and a Stableford Competition is optional.
