Pedlar cards best score of the day
ON a fine day 21 ladies played in the Monthly Medal Competition, plus another 10 ladies competed in a stableford event last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club.
Long standing Member, Bev Pedlar (Handicap 23) recorded a win with the best score of the day, claiming the prestigious Monthly Medal.
Bev’s card recorded a split of 50/46=96=Nett 73.
After a couple of challenging holes on the front 9 she pulled back playing holes 13, 14 & 15 under her handicap.
Bev’s putting saved a few shots with just 30 putts.
Second placing went to Lizzie Clement (Handicap 24) playing very consistent golf having a split of 49/49-98=Nett 74.
Lizzie had two pars on the 4th and 6th Holes.
Unlucky to lose on a countback, acting captain Penne Saffin (Handicap 21) came in third placing and Penne also recorded Nett 74 with a split of 48/47=95=Nett 74.
Ten ladies played in a stableford competition and the winner, once agai, was Libby Furner (Handicap 36) consistently playing to her handicap with 36 points.
Seven balls were given out to Leanne Hunt (Nett 75) down to Deb Fowler (Nett 78).
The speciality prize was the Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole and went to Leanne Hunt.
Second shot on the Par 5, 15th Hole went to A Grade – Val Grubb, B Grade -Lizzie Clements and C Grade – Gail Watson.
The putting competition was won by Jess Parsons with only 29 putts.AUGUST 9 RESULTS
Last Saturday 14 lady golfers participated in a stableford event on a very pleasant day also on a well presented course.
Winner of the day was Helen Heaver (Handicap 20) playing just 1 over her handicap scoring 17/18=35 points.
Helen registered a birdie 2 on the Par 3, 8th Hole plus four three pointers.
Second placing went to Rosalie Hunt (Handicap 26) with a split of 13/19=32 point.
Rosalie played the back nine very well scoring four three pointers.
Four balls in the ball rundown went to Carol Smith 30 points down to Penne Saffin 28 points.
The Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole was won by Helen Heaver and NTP on the Par 3, 16th Hole
