Pratt secures highgun

THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition on June 14 in fine and sunny conditions with some overcast conditions later in the day, with shoot offs needed to ascertain the winners.

The opening event was the ‘Penola Station & Rymill Family 25 Tgt Club Skeet Championship’ and Scott Fleming 24/25 won overall with Elizabeth Rymill 21/25 winning AA, Dougal Simson 34/36 after a shoot off won A from Ken Atkin 33/36, Scott Fleming 24/25 won B from Steve Zadow 21/25, whilst Don Pratt 23/25 took C from Darren Murrell 21/25.

The ‘DiGiorgio Wines 25 Tgt District Double Barrel Championship’ was up next with some shooters obtaining perfect scores. Wayne Hawker after a shoot off with a perfect 34/34 won overall and AA from from Andrew Hoare 33/34 , Tim Downing 35/36 after a shoot off took A from Max Medhurst 34/36, Brian Spring 24/25 just edged out Mick Rudd 25/27 to win B, after a quick shoot off John McIntyre 28/31 just won C from Declan wright 27/31.

The ‘Atkin Family 50 Tgt Eastern Zone Continental Championship’ was the last competition and after a shoot off Warren Lindner with a top score 59/61 won overall and AA from Matthew Robinson 50/53, Ken Atkin 46/50 just edged out Max Medhurst 45/50 to win A, Reece Fleming 51/53 just won B from Dale Robertson 50/53 and Declan Wright 47/50 took C from John McIntyre 46/50.

The 12 Pair Skeet Doubles cash divide finished the day with Matt Jones 20/24 taking out the winning honours followed by Dougal Simson19/24, Warren Lindner 17/24 and Reece Fleming 16/24.

The South East Autotrade Overall Highgun over the three events was won by Don Pratt with a top score of 93/100

The Black Crow Club gained some more recipients – Peter Winser and Sue Crane.

The Club has practice every Friday afternoon and the next monthly competition will be held on July 12 and after presentations the AGM will be held.
