Reaching new Heights

THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its Monthly competition on September 13 in fine and sunny conditions.

The opening event was the ‘Bucik Tyrepower 50Tgt Balltap Championship’ which was enthusiastically shot with competitors showing off their skills as the targets were more elusive than normal, eventually.

Jamie Dunn 47/53 just edged out Gavin Height 46/53 to win AA, Harry Brown 44/50 won A from Don Pratt 44/52, James McKinnon 46/56 took B from Steve Zadow 45/56 and Jason Lester 36/50 won C from Peter Winser35/50..

The ‘Jack Allison Memorial 25Tgt Club Double Barrel Championship’ was up next and this event was exceptionally well shot with a lot of shooters gaining perfect scores

It was greatly appreciated that Heather Allison, Jack’s widow, attended to present the prizes to the winners being Warren Lindner 56/56 who won overall and AA from from Jamie Dunn 55/56, Max Medhurst 33/33 took out A from Steve Zadow 32/33, Dale Robertson 26/28 just edged out Andrew Jenkins 25/28 to win B and Brian Case 22/28 won C from Robert Marcato 21/28.

The ‘Gunsmith Guy 25Tgt Continental Championship’ was the last competition with shooters applying their accuracy skills in this trying event.

After a shoot off Andrew Hoare with a perfect score of 41/41 won AA from Gavin Height 40/41 , after a quick shoot off Greg Kessegian 29/29 won A from Steve Zadow 28/29, Andrew Jenkins 26/27 just won B from Brian Spring 25/27 and Robert Marcato 21/25 took C grade from Brian Case 19/25.

The South East Autotrade Overall Highgun over the three events was won by Gavin Height with a top score of 94/100.

The Black Crow Club gained recipient’s being Dale Robertson and Andrew Jenkins .

The Club has practice every Friday afternoon and the next monthly competition will be held on Sunday, October 11.
