Remembering Julie
Last week 22 Lucindale golfing ladies played in the Julie Bagshaw Canadian Foursomes and one played a stableford.
It was about 53 years ago that Julie Bagshaw was involved in a tragic accident in Greece and this memorial golf day in her honour has been part of the Lucindale ladies competition for the past 46 years with a pewter jug acknowledging the winners since 1983.
Tony Bagshaw, a nephew, generously continues to support this day for which the club’s members are very grateful.
Julie (affectionately known as ‘Bags’) grew up at Avenue Range and was apparently jolly good fun and so this competition is a timely reminder to enjoy golf regardless.
Winners for the day with a nett 71 were mother and daughter, Petrina Smith and Nicole Hocking who apparently really ‘clicked’ and enjoyed their day.
Runners up were Rachel Smith and Megan Watson on 77 and third were Sally Clarke and Vickie Snodgrass on 78.
Michelle Justin was NTP on the 3rd, Shylie Yelland on the 12th and Vickie Snodgrass on the 16th.
Next week’s competition is a Par competition – 3rd round Bricey’s SE Collision Repairs and 2nd Par Round Olympics.
