Sea of pink at Attamurra
THE Mount Gambier Golf Club ladies recently held their Pink Ball Teams event in stableford format, doubling as a breat cancer fundraiser.
It was such a successful day with a sea of pink both in the field and after play in the clubhouse.
Pink wigs and even some pink wings were the highlight.
Teams of three had to rotate using a pink golf ball and that person’s score as well as the best score of the other two players were added together for the final score, which made the pink ball very important.
There were 47 ladies playing and many more visitors and former players joining in the fun and presentations and the weather was kind with only a few showers along the way.
Gail Watson was the lucky winner for the best dressed particularly with her pink satin pants.

The group representatives from the Mount Gambier Golf Cub cohort of lady golfers were presented with the cheque by club captain Bernie Jennings.
This amount could not have been raised without the help of the event’s many sponsors.
The club thanks Redgum Country, who were our major sponsors on the day, as well as the other sponsors including Sugar and Spice, Bunnings, Bare Necessities, MGGC, Jan Shanahan, Jess Parsons and Hope Bliss.
Linley Gray gave a beautiful farewell speech for Libby Furner, who is moving to Adelaide highlighting her wonderful achievements over the years particularly for her commitment to many local charities.
Libby has been such a wonderful caring golf member over the years and will be greatly missed.
Her passion for flowers and decorating the clubhouse as well as her jokes will be missed and the club wished her well for her next journey.
