Shooters tuning up for World Championships

The Limestone Coast 150 Sporting was held over theJune Long Weekend. Sixty-nine competitors were in attendance to the event, sponsored by Outdoor Trading Company, Outdoor Sporting Agency, Blackbird Industries, Vickery Brothers, Torresan Estate and Ernie & L.J. General Builders and Contractors.

The first day of the competition was Scheidl hosted by Lake Bonney Sporting Clays, followed by South East Field and Game hosting the second day.

Competitors were very lucky with the weather being overcast the first day with a beautiful sunny day on Sunday.

Jeremy Kent (pictured), who recently won the English Sporting Nationals, took out the High Gun 137/150. Chris Wright, Senior Category was 1 target behind Jeremy.

Danny Bellinger and Gavin Dyson ran a close race with both finishing up on 134/150, however, Danny Bellinger won AA grade on countback.

Bill Dyson came in first 129/50, with Tim Widdison, taking out 2nd 128/150.

Marc O’Shannessy, won B Grade 108/150, 3 targets ahead of the 2nd Place Ian Eckerman. Kyle Dodman came in first place in C Grade 104/150, 3 targets ahead of Ben Hagarty who came in second place 101/150.

Chris Wright took out first place in Seniors Category 136/150 with Leigh Dunn followed up with a second placing 131/150. Ernie Scheidl Ernie Scheidl snatched the lead from Neville Kent and finished up 1st in Veteran Category 128/150, with Neville in second place 127/150.

Ernie Scheidl recently returned from the Oceania Championships in Waikato, New Zealand, along with Robert Brown and Russell Pigdon, as members of the Australian Veterans team and were recipients of a silver medal.

John Torresan, won Masters Category easily 131/150, with Wayne Evans came in second place 110/150.

Tasha Bellinger, won the Lady Category very easily with 126/150, with Robecca Kober coming in second 89/150.

Zakary Button with125/150 came in first with Nicholas Bologiannis 122/150 coming in at second place in the Junior Category.

Jack Dyson, won the Sub Junior category with a creditable score and a personal best of 117/150.

Two members from the South East Branch of South Australian Field and Game Association have been selected in the Australian National Team to compete at the FITASC 45th World Sporting Championships in Hungary in July.

Ernie Scheidl is a member of the Veterans team, along with another South Australian in Robin Showier from the Riverland and Russell Pigdon from Victoria and Tim Widdison is a member of the Seniors team and will be joined by Chris Ball from South Australia and Michael Birgan from Queensland.

Ernie and Tim join a growing list of South East members who have represented Australia internationally in previous years.

Jeremy Kent, who is in good form at the moment, will also compete as an individual in Hungary.
