Small stableford field at Attamurra
TWENTY two ladies competed in a stableford event at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, generously sponsored by former captain Jan Shanahan.
The weather forecast had contributed to a number of ladies cancelling but the day was fine and dry with the course being heavy. The conditions caused low scoring for the day.
Sharran Waters (Handicap 30) headed the field with 31 points (17/14=31 points) winning on a countback by one point over the last six holes.
Sharran has been featuring in the winning circle lately and she recorded five three pointers on her scorecard.
Yvonne Shirley (Handicap 29) was second on countback, and she too has been mentioned often over the past few weeks.
Yvonne’s split was also 17/14=31 points and played consistent golf with 14 holes playing to her handicap.
Due to the small field only one division was in play thus third for the day was Leanne Hunt (Handicap 9) registering 30 points.
Leanne had 12/18=30 points and aiding her score were three pars on the 16th/17th/18th Holes.
Three balls were given out in the ball rundown and went to Sue Coulter, Libby Altschwager and Bev Pedlar.
Speciality prizes were the Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole – Jess Parsons, 2nd Shot on the 16th Hole – A Grade Leanne Hunt, B Grade – Carol Smith and C Grade – Lois Harvey.
