Smith continues purple patch of form
Due to the weather conditions high scoring was the norm for the day and the pair who came in with the best nett score of the day was once again, Carol Smith and Jess Parsons (Handicap 15) with 93-15-78 nett.
The pair played a consistent round of golf registering a birdie on the Par 3, 8th Hole, due to Jess’s shot which entitled her to take out the Pro Shot.
Second place went to the pairing of Denise Harvey and Jan Shanahan (Handicap 12) – 91-12 and five eighths = 78 and 5 eighth.
Together they too were consistent in their play with a split of 45/46=91 gross.
Fourteen balls were won for their scores and went to Helen McIntyre/Deb Sheather down to the two Sharons – Sharyn Emetlis and Sharran Waters.
Long Drive on the 9th Hole winning a ball each went to A Grade Helen McIntyre and C Grade Lyndal McInerney.
AUGUST 31 RESULTS
Fourteen ladies competed in a stableford event last Saturday in very cold conditions which contributed to nobody playing near their handicaps.
Still in her ‘purple patch’ Carol Smith (Handicap 24) won the day with 32 points, made up of a split of 18/14=32 points.
Carol registered four three pointers which proved, surprisingly, the best score of the day, thus Carol taking home the voucher.
Second placing went to Chris Morrison (Handicap 30) with 13/17=30 points. Chris scored pars on the 1st and 8th Hole.
Three balls were handed out to Yvonne Shirley, Bev Pedlar and Penne Saffin in the ball rundown.
The Pro Shot was won by Carol Smith.
