Tough for shooting
Lindner takes the spoils at Mount Gambier Gun Club
The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition earlier this month in adverse conditions starting out with a heavy downpour followed with light showers, sunlight, then some winds and finishing with sunshine, even so the dedicated shooters still obtained some top scores.
The opening event was the Green Triangle Livestock and Real Estate 25 Tgt Skeet Handicap.
This competition was enthusiastically shot and showing off their skills in the adverse conditions, and after shoot offs Warren Lindner 44/44 won overall from Ken Atkin 41/43, Brian Spring 37/38, Matthew Robinson 36/38 and Dale Robertson 39/40.
The Spot On Fishing and Tackle 25 Tgt Balltrap Championship event was exceptionally well shot in the appalling conditions.
Jamie Dunn, with a perfect 25/25, won AA from Andrew Hoare 19/25, Gavin Height 24/25 won A from Warren Lindner 32/34, Matthew Robinson 21/25 just edged out James McKinnon 20/25 to take out B Grade, Garry Bowd 21/25 in fine form outshot Peter Klieve 16/25 to win C Grade.
The Peter and Mary Winser 25 Pair Club Double Rise Championship was up next. This was a rather difficult event was again shot with determination as the shooters were trying to gain points towards the yearly club aggregate award.
Don Pratt 39/50 won AA, Harry Clark 42/50 in top form won overall and A from Gavin Height 40/50 , after a shoot off Andrew Hoare 44/60 narrowly won B from Tom Clark 43/60 and Matthew Robinson 40/50 won C from Robert Marcato 37/50.
The South East Autotrade Highgun award was won by Warren Lindner 83/100.
The Black Crow Club gained two donor members being Brian Spring and Reece Fleming The next competition will be on Saturday, September 9.
