Victory for Barry & Shanahan

THIRTY-SEVEN ladies competed in a Mystery Pairs Stableford Event, kindly sponsored by Vicki Clark and Leanne Hunt, at the Mount Gambier Golf Club.

Each player played their own game for stableford points then the pairs were randomly chosen by the Computer.

The weather was really good and worthy of a mention was that Lyn Hudson had the best score of the day with 35 points, however, was unlucky not to be drawn in the winning pairs.

Heather Barry (Handicap 19) and Jan Shanahan (Handcap 15) had the best combined score and took out first place with 64 points.

Heather complemented her score of 32 points with two birdies on the 8th and 12th Holes.

Jan also had 32 points with a split of 18/14, scoring three pars on the front nine.

Second placing was the pairing of Jennifer Van Rijthoven (Handicap 11) and Mary Kentish (Handcap 29) with a combined score of 61 points.

Jennifer’s split was 13/`16=29 points with a genuine 45 off the stick on the front nine.

Mary had 18/14=32 points and recorded three three pointers on the front nine.

Eight balls went to the pairings of Libby Furner and Carol Davis 58 points, Rab Headlam and Andrea Pegler 58 points, Di Norman and Heather Chapman 58 points, Lyn Hudson and Jill Johnson 55 points.

The Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole was won by Libby Altschwager.

2nd Shot on the Par 5, 1st Hole went to – A Grade – Janina Morrison, B Grade – Kate McCormick and C Grade – Lyn Hudson.

A 9 Hole Stableford Competiton was also held and was won by Janine Duke.

AUGUST 23 RESULTS

Perfect weather greeted 18 lady golfers last Saturday to compete in a stableford event.

Yvonne Shirley (Handicap 28) once again appeared in the winners list and won the competition with 38 points (split 19/19=38) including seven three pointers.

Sue Coulter (Handicap 26) took out second placing with 21/16=37 points.

Sue had a great front nine with four three pointers.

Two balls were won in the ball rundown and went to Bev Pedlar (36 points) and Sharran Waters 35 points.

The Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole was won by Deb Fowler and NTP on the 16th Par 3 Hole – Jeannette Braun.
