Zadow gets the job done at monthly shoot

Mount Gambier Gun Club shooters take on the course & conditions

The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition earlier this month in some slight adverse conditions starting out with a downpour followed with sunshine and occasional light showers, with some winds thrown in , even so the dedicated shooters still obtained some high scores.

The opening event was theJens Hotel 50 Tgt Eastern Zone Skeet Qualifier Championship, this being a rather difficult competition, it was enthusiastically shot and showing off their skills in the adverse conditions. Warren Lindner 48/54 won overall, Liz Rymill 43/50 won AA from Greg Kessegian 42/50, Deb McPherson 44/50 just edged out Kevin Mules 43/50 to win A, Warren Lindner 44/50 Won B From Steve Zadow 43/50 and Darren Murrell 50/58 took C from Matt Robinson 49/58. The Noel Barr Toyota 25 Tgt Club Ball Trap Championship event was exceptionally well shot in the changing conditions, with competitors trying to win points towards the yearly club aggregate award. Max Medhurst 34/35 won Overall, Andrew Hoare 33/35 won AA from Jamie Dunn 25/27, Max Medhurst 30/31 won A from Warren Lindner 29/31, Brian Spring 29/32 just edged out Steve Zadow 28/32 to win B and Andrew Jenkins 22/26 in fine form outshot Garry Allison 21/26 to win C grade.. The Creek Livestock 25 Tgt Handicap was up next and this event was again shot with determination with Scott Fleming 32/33 in fine form and after a shoot off won from John McIntyre 31/33 followed by Brian Spring 38/40 just edging out Darren Murrell 37/40 and in 5th place was Peter Klieve 24/26. The Mustart Electrical 10pair Double Rise Championship was the last event with Steve Zadow 17/20 winning AA from Tom Jenkins 16/20, Greg Kessegian 16/20 took out A from Max Medhurst 22/30, Warren Lindner 22/30 outshot Brian Spring18/30 to win B, Matt Robinson 16/20 won C from Robert Atkinson 14/20 ..

The South East Autotrade Highgun award was won by Steve Zadow with a top score of 105/120 in the adverse conditions. The Black Crow Club gained more supporters being Peter Klieve, Brian Spring and Garry Allison. The next competition being Sporting clays will be this Sunday.
