The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre will open Dream to Create\u2019s Creating Dreams exhibition this Friday at 6pm.<\/p>\n
The exhibition celebrates imagination, originality and the transformative power of artistic expression.<\/p>\n
Dream to Create is a creative person-centred program that provides unique and meaningful art and craft and social and community activities for people with a disability.<\/p>\n
Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre director Ashleigh Whatling said they were thrilled to be showcasing the talents of Dream to Create participants who are working in painting, sculpture and mixed media.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach brushstroke or sculpted form reflects their unique vision, a testament to the richness of their inner worlds,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Exhibitions Collections team leader Chris Clements echoed those sentiments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough their works, these artists invite you into a world of dreams and possibilities. Imagination and curiosity shape the whimsical and abstract masterpieces,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The exhibition provides a canvas where abilities shine and limitations dissolve.<\/p>\n
Allowing the community to witness the magic of unconventional materials, innovative techniques and unexpected perspectives as the showcased artists redefine what\u2019s possible, proving that creativity has no limits.<\/p>\n
Dream to Create manager Sharyn Coulter said creating art was an achievement.<\/p>\n
\u201c As our artists see their work displayed, pride and accomplishment swell within them,\u201d she said. \u201cConfidence blossoms and self-esteem soars. Having their art exhibited empowers these artists and contributes positively to the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt reshapes perceptions about disability, showcasing the richness of their abilities while challenging stereotypes and celebrating diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The exhibition fosters connections, bridging artists with community members they might not otherwise encounter.<\/p>\n
These shared experiences create a supportive sense of belonging, weaving a vibrant tapestry of unity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are really proud to support Dream to Create\u2019s important work in fostering creativity in our community,\u201d Mr Clements said.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is open daily upstairs in the King\u2019s Floor from this Saturday to Sunday, August 4 August.<\/p>\n
The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre is open from 10am to 5pm weekdays and 10am to 2pm weekends and most public holidays. Entry is free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
