Tenison Woods College has proved to be a netball powerhouse at the recent School Sport SA Division 1 Netball finals held in Adelaide at the end of last month.<\/p>\n
The college travelled to Adelaide with a talented squad comprising of three teams – Year 7\/8, Year 9\/10 and Open.<\/p>\n
Tenison Woods College were the only school in South Australia that played \u2018Top 4 Netball Finals\u2019 in all three-year level competitions.<\/p>\n
The Year 9\/10 team coached by Narelle Ryan took out first place.<\/p>\n
They faced Immanuel College, Westminster School, Scotch College and met again with Immanuel College in the grand final, winning 47-38.<\/p>\n
The title decider was a high-intensity affair, with the Titans holding a slight advantage over Immanuel College from the minor round.<\/p>\n
The game was marked by exceptional defensive pressure and patient ball movement, minimising wasted passes.<\/p>\n
The defensive unit in Macca Burke, Emily Denton, Bell Coghlan, Raine Darimaani, and Asha Gysbers, who interchanged throughout the day, came together as a formidable force, creating opportunities that helped build the lead.<\/p>\n
The midcourt duo of Maggie Collins and Piper Paul remained focused, bringing the ball down and feeding with precision passing.<\/p>\n
The shooting performance was outstanding, with Mischa Human a reliable focal point and Ashlee Dean creating space, both sinking the ball with accuracy. The on and off-court encouragement among teammates was exemplary as they claimed the State Championship.<\/p>\n
The Open team, coached by Kaitlin Egan, took out second place, playing Westminster School, St Michael\u2019s College, Scotch College and meeting again with St Michael\u2019s College in the grand final.<\/p>\n
The Open grand final against St Michael\u2019s College turned into a thrilling contest with the Titans starting strong, capitalising on brilliant turnovers from defenders Edie Easterby and Ava Collins in the goal circle.<\/p>\n
For most of the game, the Titans maintained a slight lead, with Macey Griffith brilliant in goal shooter, shooting with remarkable accuracy.<\/p>\n
In the final quarter, the game became even tighter, with both teamsapplying immense pressure. When the final whistle blew, the score was tied, forcing the match into overtime.<\/p>\n
After three minutes at each end, the game remained deadlocked, with play continuing until one team was two goals ahead.<\/p>\n
In a tense exchange of turnovers, St Michael\u2019s College managed to secure the win.<\/p>\n
The Year 7\/8 team, coached by Angela Queale, also showed great success securing third place, playing Sacred Heart College and Trinity College with a final rematch against Sacred Heart College.<\/p>\n
Despite a slow start in the rematch against Sacred Heart College, the team made a determined comeback to secure a three-goal victory.<\/p>\n
Tilly Prouse excelled in wing attack, providing accurate feeds to Harper Braun, while Lacey Hunter and Indi Coghlan worked together seamlessly in a fast-paced goal-scoring effort.<\/p>\n
Lola Ferguson\u2019s drive through the centre court was crucial, and Claire Hunter, along with Lily Hackwill, Piper Wardle, and Audrey Galambos successfully contained Sacred Heart\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
