<\/p>\nTwenty-one members of the Mt Gambier District Indoor Bowls Association have returned from the Australian National Championships held in Tanundaearlier this month.<\/p>\n
It would be seen as one of the toughest competitions to date in all sections.<\/p>\n
South Australia finished third overall in both adult and junior competitions which was a first for many years with the competition traditionally dominated by Tasmania and Victoria.<\/p>\n

In the Ladies Singles, Serena Bourn came home an Australian National Champion winning the Gold medal with eight wins and one loss in a close competition with New South Wales Monika Korn beating her on percentage.<\/p>\n
In the Men\u2019s Fours, the team Craig Pearson, Mark Treglown (Naracoorte), Josh Ferrazzola and Val Alma dominated the competition for the most part of the week. They proudly bought home the Bronze Medal.<\/p>\n
For the rest of our local bowlers, their results were as follows:<\/p>\n
\u2022 In his second year of Men\u2019s Singles, Coehen Keppels finished tenth in his toughest competition to date.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ladies pairs teams of Fiona and Keisha Pearson and Jennifer Bowering and Emma Freemantle finished 5th and 9th respectively.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Men\u2019s Pairs teams of Tony Bowditch and Daniel Langdon, and Zac Pearson with Broken Hills Milton Hawke Jr came 5th and 7th.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Bronwyn Hill and her team finished 7th in the Women\u2019s Triples.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Gary Bowering and Thomas Butler along with their teams in the Men\u2019s Triples came in 6th and 8th places.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Veronica Opie, Fiona Rochow, Nicola Bowditch and Heather Glynn placed 7th in the Women\u2019s Fours competition.<\/p>\n
\u2022 In the Mixed Fours competition, Tim Radley and Kevin Burn finished 9th with one win and a draw.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Jos Breuker and Shirley Gifford both filled in for Queensland in the Mixed Fours and Ladies Fours and finished 7th and 8th place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
