{"id":10683,"date":"2024-09-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=10683"},"modified":"2024-09-11T14:50:24","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T04:50:24","slug":"millicent-heralds-new-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/millicent-heralds-new-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Millicent heralds new season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Millicent Bowls Club held their Season Opening on September, with club president Aaron Emonson and Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll officiating.<\/p>\n<p>In Mayor Noll\u2019s opening address he praised the club in the manner in which it is run, bringing people together to enjoy the sport and also running a great Night Bowls competition which gets many non-bowlers into the sport and also bringing bowlers from away into the town for tournaments the club runs through the year.<\/p>\n<p>He then declared the 2024\/25 season open before Emonson thanked invited Ladies Singles Champion Sarah Ross to roll the jack and for Men\u2019s Singles Champion Wayne Ross to roll the first bowl for the season.<\/p>\n<p>Once the official ceremony had been completed, members enjoyed one game of bowls played over 16 ends before going back into the clubrooms to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Millicent Bowls Club held their Season Opening on September, with club president Aaron Emonson and Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll officiating.
