In Home Hospice Care Inc. (IHHCare) Mount Gambier has received a much needed financial boost courtesy of the Aged Persons Welfare Foundation (APWF).<\/p>\n
This funding will be instrumental in sustaining and expanding the efforts of the service to provide compassionate in-home care for individuals, families, and carers dealing with life-limiting illnesses.<\/p>\n
With more than 80% of IHHCare Mount Gambier\u2019s clients aged 65 and older, their mission is to preserve dignity, foster independence, and improve the quality of life for members of rural communities.<\/p>\n
The trained volunteers offer a wide range of services, all aimed at reducing the burdens faced by both elderly patients and their caregivers.<\/p>\n
IHHCare manager Sandi Elliott said thanks to the generous funding from the Aged Persons Welfare Foundation, IHHCare was now positioned to broaden its reach to serve even more individuals in need with our focus on extending our services to residents of local aged care facilities and retirement homes.<\/p>\n
\u201cFunding will enable the expansion by supporting the recruitment, training, and ongoing supervision of additional volunteers, enabling us to provide consistent and high-quality care to a larger segment of our rural population,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn collaboration with key community stakeholders, such as Seniors Clubs, Retirement Homes, and Aged Care Facilities, IHHCare will continue to foster partnerships that enhance our capacity to deliver personalised care.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis approach ensures that we can meet the unique needs of our aging population and adapt our services to the specific cultural and social context of our rural community.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the support of the Aged Persons Welfare Foundation, IHHCare is committed to reducing the physical, emotional, and financial burdens on elderly patients and carers in rural South Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur vision is simple: no one facing a life-limiting condition should do so alone,\u201d Sandi said.<\/p>\n
