{"id":11829,"date":"2024-12-18T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=11829"},"modified":"2024-12-11T15:51:02","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T04:51:02","slug":"making-exhibition-interactive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/news\/making-exhibition-interactive\/","title":{"rendered":"Making exhibition interactive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Riddoch Arts &amp; Cultural Centre invites locals to step into The Green Room, a new interactive creative space inspired by the current exhibition, Enjoy this Trip: The Art of Music Posters.<\/p>\n<p>While the exhibition showcases iconic posters from the National Gallery of Australia\u2019s collection featuring concerts from the 1960s to the 1980s, The Green Room shines a spotlight on Mount Gambier\u2019s contemporary music culture.<\/p>\n<p>Providing a hands-on, immersive experience designed for all ages and featuring a collection of music posters from local bands Riddoch Programming Officer Kyra Sykes said the space was a celebration of music, creativity and local talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to bring The Green Room to life at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre, creating a space where visitors of all ages can delve deeper into the exhibition content through interactive activities,\u201d Kyra said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important for us to collaborate with local visual and musical artists as a way to further connect with our community and celebrate their talents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompiling the display of local band posters has been a real highlight of the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Green Room will offer a variety of interactive activities including:<\/p>\n<p>Poster design: Unleash your inner designer and create your very own music poster on paper.<\/p>\n<p>Colour and sound: Compose melodies with your feet on a giant, colourful, interactive piano.<\/p>\n<p>Cover star: Step into the spotlight and see yourself featured on the cover of The Riddoch Stone music magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Team easel: Work alongside a friend or family member on the same whiteboard canvas and experiment with flowing lines.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Room will be launched on Saturday, December 14, and will be available to visit until Sunday, February 23 next year between 10am and 5pm on weekdays and 10am to 2pm on weekends and most public holidays.
