The Liberal Opposition last week unveiled a vision for Mount Gambier\u2019s future, with a comprehensive policy package, outlining what amounts to $40million of investment, that aims to unlock the region\u2019s full potential and create lasting social and economic benefits for generations to come.<\/p>\n
Opposition leader Vincent Tarzia brought his Shadow Cabinet to the region at the end of last week, including local Ben Hood MLC.<\/p>\n
The visit was a chance for a suite of two-way conversations with locals as the Liberals outlined their plans for the region if elected in 2026 while continuing to collect intel from the local community on what they see as priorities for South Australia\u2019s second largest city.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole suite of announcements are things people have been speaking to me about for years,\u201d Mr Hood said.<\/p>\n
The Liberals have targeted nine specific issues, including the already announced commitment to funding radiotherapy services in the region.<\/p>\n
They are also cognisant of issues that affect regional areas Statewide, not just the Limestone Coast, including investment in our public school facilities, including maintenance and new development and the ongoing issues with PATS for regional patients.<\/p>\n
