The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition on February 8 in fine and warm conditions and even though there were some consistent windy conditions throughout the day, the shooters still obtained some high scores.<\/p>\n
The opening event was the Elders Rural Supplies 50 Tgt Skeet Championship, this competition was enthusiastically shot as the shooters were aiming to hone their accuracy skills preparing themselves for the upcoming Australian National Skeet titles being held in Wagga Wagga.<\/p>\n
AA grader\u2019s Ken Atkin shot a 45\/50 to win, A Grade was tied with Kevin Mules and Greg Kessegian both scoring a credible 45\/50, B Grade was tied between Warren Lindner and Gavin Height scoring 43\/50 each and Matthew Jones 47\/50 was in fine form won C Grade from Darren Murrell 45\/50.<\/p>\n
The Blue Lake Golf Club 25 Tgt Handicap event was exceptionally well shot, with a top score from Mick Little 24\/25 winning outright.<\/p>\n
It then took a shoot off between five shooters, who all shot 23\/25 and that went finally to Ken Atkin 27\/29 was placed second followed by Andrew Jenkins 26\/29, Andrew Hoare 25\/28 and Tom Jenkins 24\/27.<\/p>\n
The AJ\u2019s Refrigeration 30 Tgt Champion of Champions was up next and this event was again shot enthusiastically with competitors again attaining some high scores in the windy conditions.<\/p>\n
Tom Jenkins 45\/50 just edged out Warren Lindner 44\/50 to win AA, Kevin Mules 44\/50 won A Grade from Ken Atkin 43\/50, Mick Little 42\/50 easily won B from Brian Smith 39\/50 and Matthew Jones 39\/50 took out C grade from Ayden Nolte 34\/50.<\/p>\n
The South East Autotrade Highgun Award over the three events was successfully won by Ken Atkin with a great score of 111\/125.<\/p>\n
