Shooting the best score of the day was C Grade (17.0 \u2013 45.0) player John Sandery (23).<\/p>\n
In trying conditions Sandery was able to sign for a fine score of +4, which is his second win over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n
Charlie Finch (19) took out second spot in C Grade as the only other player to play to or better than their handicap finishing square.<\/p>\n
A Grade (-9.0 \u2013 10.0) was taken out by Archy Arch (10 – pictured above) with +3, followed by Moryn Sullivan (9) with +2, who edge out David Lightbody (3) of the Blackwood Golf Club who also finished on +2, thanks to a countback going his way.<\/p>\n
Brenton Massey (2) from the SA Police Golf Club finished at +1.<\/p>\n
B Grader (11.0 \u2013 16.0) had the closest results for the day, with four players completing their rounds with +3.<\/p>\n
The countback had Neil Quirk (15) take the win, with John Shirley (11) coming second from Tony Revill (13) and Darren Earl (14).<\/p>\n
Another group of four players finished on +1 including Tim MacLean (11), Neal Doody (13), Peppi Pace (13) and Damian Smith (13).<\/p>\n
Golfers needed to have scored -24 or better on a countback to collect one of the 27 balls handed out.<\/p>\n
For the first time that I can remember, one golfer took out both nearest to the pins for the round.<\/p>\n
Peter Waters (12) had his irons working well which was matched by his putting as he walked off both greens after scoring birdies.FEBRUARY 13 RESULTS<\/p>\n
The hot Wednesday weather might have scared a few members off, as a smaller field than usual of 84 contested the Thursday stableford competition.<\/p>\n
After the rounds were done, a congested leaderboard had Paul Kenny (10) take the win thanks to a countback from Roger Gulin (30) with both players finishing on 38 points.<\/p>\n
It was Kenny\u2019s superior back nine of 20 points which had him take the win.<\/p>\n
Only one point back eight players ended on 37 points.<\/p>\n
Winner of five balls was David Cameron (30), from Michael Griffiths (14) with four balls, Michael Morton (9) three balls and Graham Thomas (19) with twoballs.<\/p>\n
Damian Smith (11), Peter Fox (9), Mark Teakle (33) and Peppi Pace (12) all were the unlucky ones to only collect a single ball each.<\/p>\n
The remaining players required 35 points or better on a countback to earn one of the remaining six balls.<\/p>\n
