IN Home Hospice Care Inc. (IHHCare) is proud to announce that we have received funding from the Sisters of Charity Foundation, contributing to the expansion of our essential palliative and elderly support services across Mount Gambier and surrounding communities.<\/p>\n

This funding helps towards the enhancement of the quality of life for individuals facing life-limiting conditions, and much-needed respite for caregivers.<\/p>\n

This funding enables IHHCare to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Improve Quality of Life for Clients:<\/strong> Through the provision of personalized care, companionship, and support, assisting elderly individuals and those with life-limiting conditions to maintain dignity and independence in their familiar environments.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Reduce Caregiver Stress:<\/strong> Offering much needed respite and emotional support to caregivers, preventing burnout and improving overall well-being.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Expand Volunteer Engagement:<\/strong> Recruitment and training of volunteers, providing them with fulfilling opportunities to give back to their community.<\/p>\n

IHHCare\u2019s services align closely with the mission of the Sisters of Charity Foundation, which focuses on breaking down social isolation and providing support to marginalized groups.<\/p>\n

Through in-home care, companionship, and caregiver assistance, IHHCare ensures that seniors can live with dignity and remain connected to their communities, directly addressing the growing demand for aged care services in the region.<\/p>\n

In Mount Gambier alone, 17.5 per cent of residents are aged 60\u201374, and another 10% are over 75. With the number of seniors increasing, IHHCare can provide low-cost, basic local support.<\/p>\n

Key activities funded by the grant include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Expanding the volunteer base through recruitment and training.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Continuing ‘In the Home’ palliative volunteer support.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Delivering free grief, loss, and bereavement counselling services.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Running Practical Skills for Caregivers and Advance Care Planning sessions for the community and aged care residents.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Strengthening partnerships with aged care facilities to integrate our volunteer support into their services.<\/p>\n

IHHCare manager Sandi Elliott expressed her gratitude for this vital support.<\/p>\n

“This funding allows us to reach more people in need and provide the compassionate care that makes a real difference in their lives,\u201d Sandi said. \u201cIt\u2019s not just about practical support; it\u2019s about dignity, connection, and ensuring that no one feels alone in their final journey.
