{"id":13090,"date":"2025-03-26T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=13090"},"modified":"2025-03-19T15:45:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T04:45:53","slug":"looking-to-foster-sustainable-farming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/news\/looking-to-foster-sustainable-farming\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking to foster sustainable farming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STAKEHOLDERS can now apply for up to $80,000 to explore practices to operate in a drying climate.<\/p>\n<p>The grant program aims to continue agricultural growth while adopting sustainable resource management practices.<\/p>\n<p>The grant opportunities will fund projects that increase awareness, knowledge and skills of best practice towards climate smart agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Limestone Coast landscape Board manager sustainable landscapes Jason Taylor said the Limestone Coast Landscape Board was continuing its commitment to sustainable agriculture by offering the Climate-smart Landscapes Grants Program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy encouraging the uptake of practices that prepare farmers for a more variable climate, we ensure that they can adapt and thrive into the future,\u201d Mr Taylor said. \u201cDemonstration sites, peer-to-peer learning, workshops and field days that share information to encourage best practice can be funded. Applicants may consider projects about soil health, water and nutrient management and entering carbon markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage primary producer groups, landholders, landcare groups and First Nations peoples to apply who are currently undertaking natural resource management activities or wish to commence new ones. This grant program is available for organisations and peoples who have a desire to share their learnings with neighbours, industry colleagues and other land managers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To find out more, go to Climate Smart Landscape Grants | Engage Limestone Coast Landscape Board.
