THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition on April 12 in fine, sunny and rather hot conditions, with some slight winds thrown in.<\/p>\n
The shooters were able to obtain some high scores and shoot offs were often needed to ascertain the winners.<\/p>\n
The opening event was the Keith and Shirley Mules Memorial 50 Tgt Double Barrel Championship.<\/p>\n
Jamie Dunn with a perfect 56\/56 won AA from Thomas Jenkins 55\/56 followed by Andrew Hoare 49\/50, Matt Robinson with a perfect score of 50\/50 won A from Steve Chambers 47\/50, followed by Zander Hawker 66\/70, Andrew McKinnon 49\/50 also in fine form won B from Brian Spring 47\/50, followed by Shannon Megaw 51\/55, whilst James McKinnon 49\/51 just edged out John McIntyre 48\/51 and Peter Winser 49\/54 to win C.<\/p>\n
The Keith and Shirley Mules Memorial 50 Tgt Single Barrel Championship was up next and this event was exceptionally well shot being an event that needs skilful accuracy.<\/p>\n
Thomas Jenkins 48\/50 won AA from Max Medhurst 46\/50 followed by Don Pratt 49\/54, Ken Atkin 43\/50 took A from Steve Chambers 40\/50 and Kevin Mules 39\/50, Stuart Bowd 42\/51 just edged out Mick Little 41\/51 and Brian Spring 42\/52 to win B, Declan Wright 43\/50 won C from James McKinnon 40\/50 and Stewart Humphries 36\/50.<\/p>\n
The Overall Highgun was won by Thomas Jenkins with a credible top score of 98\/100, with the highgun grades being AA: Jamie Dunn 94\/100, A: Ken Atkin 89\/100, B: Brian Spring 87\/100 and C: James McKinnon 88\/100<\/p>\n
The Black Crow Club gained some more recipients being John McIntyre, Scott Fleming, Peter Winser and Mick Little.<\/p>\n
