SPORTING clubs and community groups across the District Council of Grant are invited to apply for up to $5000 co-funding through the newly opened Community Grants Scheme.<\/p>\n

District Council of Grant Mayor Kylie Boston said the scheme is envisaged to enable community projects and events that enhance wellbeing and increase participation in social and leisure activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis funding will allow local clubs and groups to deliver meaningful projects that help people connect, stay active, and feel supported,\u201d Mayor Boston said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you’re planning a community event or infrastructure upgrades, Council can help bring these to life through the Community Grants Scheme which is now open.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three grant categories are available to incorporated not-for-profit organisations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Community Groups<\/p>\n

Maximum $3,000<\/p>\n

75% Council | 25% applicant<\/p>\n

Maximum $5,000<\/p>\n

50% Council | 50% applicant<\/p>\n

Sporting Clubs<\/p>\n

Maximum $3,000<\/p>\n

75% Council | 25% applicant<\/p>\n

Maximum $5,000<\/p>\n

50% Council | 50% applicant<\/p>\n

Community Participation<\/p>\n

Maximum $500<\/p>\n

100% Council | 0% applicant<\/p>\n

Projects considered under the Community Grants Scheme include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Safety\/security enhancements;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Amenity upgrades;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Infrastructure and facility renovations;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Community events promoting inclusion and connection; and<\/p>\n

\u2022 Implementation of club programs.<\/p>\n

District Council of Grant chief executive officer Darryl Whicker said the scheme contributes to the building of stronger communities within the district.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil supports best practice in Community Development by supporting community groups resilience to build on their capacities and strengths to learn, grow and innovate,\u201d Mr Whicker said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased to provide this new round of community grants which better assists our community groups to develop their organisations and increase social participation. I encourage interested parties to review the Community Grants Scheme guidelines.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrant applications will be assessed on a rolling basis. Projects with merit will be awarded as they are received, therefore early applications are vital.\u201d<\/p>\n
