{"id":13748,"date":"2025-05-06T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=13748"},"modified":"2025-04-30T14:44:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T04:44:42","slug":"president-takes-on-captain-at-mount-gambier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/president-takes-on-captain-at-mount-gambier\/","title":{"rendered":"President takes on captain at Mount Gambier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Mount Gambier Golf Club ladies competed in a stableford competition as part of the President v Captain\u2019s Day sponsored by Betty McKechnie at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>It was another perfect day for golf with the course looking great with thanks green staff and many volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>As the players booked in to play they were allocated to either team for the day and it was President Janina Morrison\u2019s team that held sway this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Division 1:Winner &#8211; Denise Harvey with 38 points<\/p>\n<p>Runner Up \u2013 Trudy Johnson with 36 points.<\/p>\n<p>The front 9 was obviously the easiest on the day for these two players with Denise scoring 22 points including four pars and Trudy scoring five pars with 20 points.<\/p>\n<p>Division 2:Winner &#8211; Sue Ryan with 37 points<\/p>\n<p>Runner Up \u2013 Debbie Sheather with 33 points.<\/p>\n<p>It was a great battle between these two sisters with both scoring well on the front 9 holes.<\/p>\n<p>Pro Shot on the 8th was won by Kathy Ewer.<\/p>\n<p>Long Drive 2nd Shot on the 7th hole:<\/p>\n<p>A grade: Denise HarveyB Grade: Kate McCormickC Grade: Gail Stephenson<\/p>\n<p>The Ball Run down went to 32 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APRIL 26 RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three ladies played in the Stableford Competition sponsored by Nutrien Ag.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Winner: Dianne O\u2019Donnell with 36 points on a countback.<\/p>\n<p>Runner Up: Helen Heaver 36 points.<\/p>\n<p>Pro Shot on the 8th : Penne Saffin<\/p>\n<p>NTP 16th Camilla Knowles<\/p>\n<p>Ball run down up to 30 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPCOMING EVENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteer\/Sponsor Day with a 2 Ball Ambrose competition. Lunch will be provided on the day to thank all the contributors.
