HAMILTOM Gallery is excited to announce the official opening of The Creator Lab, a vibrant new hub for arts education and creative learning after an official event at the weekend.<\/p>\n
Located at 84 Brown Street, Hamilton, The Creator Lab opened its doors with a fun-filled launch event for the whole family.<\/p>\n
The event included hands-on art activities, demonstrations, and a first look at the inspiring new space dedicated to creativity and community engagement.<\/p>\n
Thanks to $262,500 in funding from the Department of Education\u2019s Strategic Partnerships Program (SPP), Hamilton Gallery has transformed the location into a dedicated space for workshops, community programs, and artistic exploration\u2014especially for young people.<\/p>\n
The Creator Lab is now the permanent home for the Gallery\u2019s much-loved HG Kids and HG Young Creatives programs, offering a tailored environment for learning, making, and self-expression.<\/p>\n
Madi Whyte, Engagement and Development Coordinator at Hamilton Gallery, said this was a fantastic opportunity for young people.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith access to materials, technology, and support, we can deliver high-quality, hands-on programs that inspire creativity and learning on a regular basis,\u201d Ms Whyte said. \u201cIt\u2019s a game-changer for art education in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Weekly programs including HG Play and HG Young Creatives are already underway, offering children and teens creative sessions in drawing, mixed media, and digital art tools.<\/p>\n
These workshops nurture imagination, encourage artistic skill-building, and provide a welcoming, inclusive space for personal expression.<\/p>\n
Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Cr. Dennis Heslin praised the initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud to see local investment in our young people. Spaces like The Creator Lab ensure that the next generation has access to first-class arts education right here in Hamilton,\u201d Cr Heslin said.<\/p>\n
Southern Grampians Shire Council CEO Tony Doyle said this was an outstanding outcome for the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis crucial support from the state government allows us to offer meaningful and inclusive access to the arts\u2014something every community deserves,\u201d Mr Doyle said.<\/p>\n
