MOUNT Gambier baseball icon Steve Kuhl has joined Sean Horrigan and Darryl (Sid) Hosking as local inductees into the BaseballSA Hall of Fame \u2013 Kuhl\u2019s induction coming at the end of last month in front of 130 past inductees\u2019 family and friends at the ceremony held at The Highway Hotel in Adelaide.<\/p>\n
Kuhl was one of 16 new inductees with another inductee \u2013 Charlie Pucket \u2013 also having a coonnection to Mount Gambier.<\/p>\n
Pucket played Claxton Shield for South Australia in 1934, 1935 and 1936, Victoria in 1937 and Western Australia in 1938.<\/p>\n
In those last three years he won the highest individual award in those states.<\/p>\n
In the winter of 1947 Charlie played locally for East Gambier in a number of games before returning to Western Australia to coach.<\/p>\n
Pucket, like Kuhl, was an outstanding pitcher in his day.<\/p>\n

A tireless advocate for the sport, Kuhly\u2019s years of service as a respected committee member of the SACBA reflect his unwavering commitment to the baseball community.<\/p>\n
From his roots with the Mount Gambier Baseball League to his cherished role with the Central Baseball Club, Kuhly\u2019s journey has been one of loyalty, leadership, and love for the game.<\/p>\n
Steve began his baseball career with the Mount Gambier High School and found his way to the Central Baseball Club in the last winter season of 1980. Since that first game, Steve has accumulated 875 games with the Club and many more at League level.<\/p>\n
His credentials certainly are outstanding, and Steve is now worthy member of the BaseballSA Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
