FRIENDS of the Library Mount Gambier will hold their annual Big Book Sale on Saturday, July 26, from 9am to 1pm at the Mount Gambier Library.<\/p>\n
Donations of books and other items are currently being sought to support the event. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into library resources, as part of the Friends\u2019 major annual fundraising effort.<\/p>\n
Acting manager library and community development Sally Mann said this treasure trove of pre-loved items was an ideal chance to snap up thousands of books, DVDs and jigsaws \u2013 all for just a dollar or two.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you’re a bookworm, movie buff, puzzle fanatic, or just love a good bargain, there\u2019s something for everyone at the Big Book Sale,\u201d Ms Mann said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe book sale is always a popular event with customers lining up at the door before we open. Whether you’re after a hidden gem, a classic novel, or a stack of bedtime stories, the Friends of the Library Book Sale is not to be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recent financial donations from Friends of the Library\u2019s efforts have included library furniture, supporting the Summer Reading Club and upgrading the youth area.<\/p>\n
Friends of the Library President Chris Lloyd said the Friends of the Library committee was also seeking donations for the sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now we are calling out to the public for donations of books, jigsaws, board games and DVDs in good condition,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s the perfect time to clear out that spare room or shelves that are overflowing.<\/p>\n
\u201cDonations are kindly accepted at the Mount Gambier Library up until 5.30pm on Thursday, July 24, to give the committee of volunteers enough time to carefully sort through and prepare all the items for sale.<\/p>\n
Magazines, encyclopedias or books in poor condition are not able to be accepted for the sale.<\/p>\n
Friends of the Library are also seeking new volunteers to join the committee.<\/p>\n
If you are interested, please speak with a library staff member, or one of the Friends Committee at the Big Book Sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteering on the committee is a small time commitment that has a big impact on what our wonderful Library can offer,\u201d Ms Lloyd said.<\/p>\n
