THE cold winter weather drew a flurry of families into the District Council of Grant\u2019s Community Complex in Port MacDonnell these July school holidays, with many enjoying the warmth and wide range of activities on offer.<\/p>\n
The craft table was a constant hub of creativity and excitement with colourful beaded mobiles and hand decorated masks being amongst the creations.<\/p>\n
The pool table and gaming consoles, including the PlayStation and Wii, also kept visitors of all ages entertained.<\/p>\n
The Community Complex\u2019s Art Gallery attracted steady crowds throughout the holiday period, with visitors drawn to the collaborative exhibition Echoes of Memories.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is a stunning display of works across a range of mediums by ten local artists; Michelle Curtis, Julie Linnell, Dianne Nicolson, Shirley Hogg, Margaret Boardman, Ann Carpenter, Debbie Prescott, Annette Cassidy, Karen Mitchell and Sue Fourier.<\/p>\n
Many visitors also took the opportunity to explore the extensive collection of the Maritime Museum, while the library remained a go-to destination for those looking to borrow the perfect book to enjoy from the comfort of home.<\/p>\n
Community Development Coordinator Emma Telford said the Community Complex continued to be a welcoming hub for all ages.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see local families and visitors making the most of what the Community Complex has to offer, especially during the colder months,\u201d Mrs Telford said.<\/p>\n
