THE Limestone Coast Women\u2019s Health Expo returns this September with a powerful focus on cardiovascular health.<\/p>\n
The Limestone Coast Women\u2019s Health Collective is proud to present its annual Women\u2019s Health Week Expo on Friday, September 5, bringing together leading local experts, health services, and community organisations for a day of education, empowerment, and connection.<\/p>\n
Held during Jean Hailes\u2019 National Women\u2019s Health Week, this year\u2019s theme \u2013 \u2018Cardiovascular Health: Strong Women Need Healthy Hearts Too\u2019 – will spotlight the silent but serious issue of heart disease in women.<\/p>\n
Heart disease is the second leading cause of death for Australian women, yet many don\u2019t realise the symptoms can be very different to those experienced by men – or that certain conditions can emerge during pregnancy and in the years that follow.<\/p>\n
LCWHC committee member and local GP Dr Monique Kanters said the expo was about giving women in our region the tools they need to take charge of their heart health.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want women to feel confident recognising the signs, understanding their risk factors, and making small, sustainable changes that keep their hearts strong for life,\u201d Dr Kanters said.<\/p>\n
LCWHC committee member Lucy Lines said the expo is about more than just information.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a welcoming space where women can ask questions, try something new, and connect with services they might not have known existed in our region,\u201d Lucy said.<\/p>\n
