{"id":15671,"date":"2025-09-07T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=15671"},"modified":"2025-09-03T15:11:01","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T05:11:01","slug":"federal-mp-hands-over-grant-at-season-opener","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/federal-mp-hands-over-grant-at-season-opener\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal MP hands over grant at season opener"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Millicent Bowls Clubheld their official season opening on Sunday, August 31.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Member for Barker, Tony Passin was invited to officially open the season with current Ladies Club Champion, Lyn Scudds selected to roll the jack and current Men\u2019s Club Champion John Scudds delivered the first bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Before leaving the clubroom, Mr Pasin presented $20,000 (pictured) for the purchase of batteries to club president Aaron Emonson for connection to the solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>This is a project that has been on the club\u2019s wish list for some time.<\/p>\n<p>After lunch all members then played two games of three bowl triples played over 10 ends.<\/p>\n<p>The team winning the day went to John Scudds, Arnold Damhuis and Derrick Lindh, with a score of 33+18 shots up.<\/p>\n<p>The team of John Drew, Steve Skeer and Lurlene Reinders were runners-up, 27+8.<\/p>\n<p>All players then retired to the clubroom to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Millicent Bowls Clubheld their official season opening on Sunday, August 31.
