WATTLE Range Council is gearing up for another action-packed Full Throttle in Wattle School Holiday Program this September\/October, delivering a vibrant calendar of free activities for school-aged children across the region.<\/p>\n

Running from Saturday, September 27 to Sunday, October 12, the program will bring a variety of engaging events to Millicent, Penola and Beachport, ensuring there’s something for every young person to ignite creativity, connection and inspire new skills.<\/p>\n

Kicking off the program and back by popular demand, Bush Buddies returns, this time at the Beachport Cinema, promising hands-on wildlife experiences for curious minds. Wacky Wednesday is featuring at both Penola and Beachport Visitor Information Centres, doubling the midweek fun.<\/p>\n

This year council is fortunate enough to have partnered with local artist group SLEDJ for a series of creative events at the Millicent RSL where young artists can help contribute to an art installation.<\/p>\n

Another feature of the Spring program is the Adelaide Guitar Festival \u2013 On the Road Guitar Masterclass, bringing musicians Kelly Menhennett and Chris Parkinson to run a workshop in Coonawarra for budding musicians to learn songwriting and guitar techniques.<\/p>\n

Wattle Range Council\u2019s director development services, Emma Clay, said the program was a fantastic opportunity for young people to get involved and make the most of the holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdventurous kids will love the return of kayaking at Lake Leake, a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, stay active, and discover the natural beauty of the region,\u201d Ms Clay said.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the program, the Millicent Public Library will once again be buzzing with creativity, offering everything from arts and crafts to LEGO builds and Nintendo Switch competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program wraps up with an opportunity to go along to Wattle Range Council\u2019s Dog Breakfast at Penola\u2019s War Memorial Park, raising awareness about responsible dog ownership in a relaxed and fun way to round out the holidays,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Full Throttle in Wattle program is proudly inclusive and accessible, offering children of all abilities the chance to connect, create, and try something new close to home. We encourage all young people to keep their eye out for our library screening of \u2018Sonic the Hedgehog 3\u2019 which is an initiative of the PACES group from Millicent High School\u201d<\/p>\n
