ENTRIES are now open for this year\u2019s Mount Gambier Christmas Parade, sponsored by AAM Timber. The parade will be held at 11am on Saturday, November.<\/p>\n

Community groups, sporting clubs, schools, businesses and individuals are encouraged to enter the cherished annual tradition. Thousands of spectators will gather to enjoy a vibrant procession of colourful floats, characters, live bands and energetic dancers, all leading up to the grand arrival of Santa Claus himself.<\/p>\n

City of Mount Gambier Community Events Team Leader Xarnia Keding said the parade marks the beginning of the festive season in Mount Gambier and fills the city with Christmas cheer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether your entry is big or small, you can walk, skip, ride, dance, or sing your way down the main street,\u201d Ms Keding said. \u201cOur dedicated volunteers are already crafting a magical float to make this year\u2019s event extra special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most Outstanding Entry<\/p>\n

Best Christmas Theme<\/p>\n

Best School Entry<\/p>\n

Best Club or Community Organisation Entry<\/p>\n

Open Category<\/p>\n

Best Themed Band<\/p>\n

Encouragement Award<\/p>\n

Best Non-City Entry<\/p>\n

People\u2019s Choice Award<\/p>\n

Best Live Band<\/p>\n

There is more than $3500 in prize money to be won. Entries will be judged individually on creativity, effort, visual appeal, energy, engagement, and a recycling focus. Entrants are eligible for any award, with only one prize per entry.<\/p>\n

There is no charge to enter, and entry forms and guidelines are available here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Printed entry forms are available from the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre, Civic Centre and the Mount Gambier Library.<\/p>\n
